Some readers report that they are having difficulties accessing my site. They say they get access to the background colors only, which is -- of course -- very unsatisfactory.I also see a drop in the number of direct visits since January 25 which may be a sign of technical difficulties.
I have no problem accessing the site from Europe, so I guess it could be a glitch. Rebecca's World is powered by Google's Blogger, which is -- under normal circumstances -- a reliable service that can cope with a lot of traffic.
It could be that the increasing popularity of this site causes the problem, though.
For a one year old "long tail" niche blog the growth has been amazing.
I now clock some 2500 to 3000 visits every day. There have been over 37,000 unique visitors to this site during the last 30 days and close to 400,000 pageviews. A lot of you are returning visitors.
Needless to say, I am thrilled that so many of you find the site so interesting.

I have already reduced the number of page elements in order to reduce the download time.
UPDATE:
Thank you all for very useful comments by mail and in the comments section. It seems this is an Internet Explorer 6 problem. Blogger has changed the code, loading the background before the content warning, and IE 6 is apparently unable to load the real content after the warning. Anyway, upgrading Explorer seems to help, as will changing to any other browser (Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Safari).

out shortly. However, I would strongly encourage those of you still
using IE6 to upgrade to a newer browser. IE6 is quickly becoming

From Germany, I have no problem accessing the site. Just to let you know. But there were other problems. Real life problems, that kept my busy. I think, there are not just a few others, trying to handle the same: Exam time in universities and schools.

i absolutely love this site but im having problems viewing the slideshows
I experienced lots of troubles (yes, Europe) in the last weeks, where only the background of the site was shown.
I still used IE6. Tried Google Chrome: worked fine. Tried IE7: also no problem.
So, to me, upgrading to IE7 solved the problem. Hope this helps.
And now back to your great site!
No problems here (from Australia) though I have noticed that the background loads before it swaps to the blogger content warning. I suspect this is done via JavaScript which is the cause of the reported problems.
Hmmm, no problem for me dear. Im from California, US, and I dont ever get trouble getting to your site. I have noticed a little downloading delay... Or lag, on the left navigation panel. Sometimes the slideshows load the next slide a little slow but usually that only happens if I'm reading too fast! I've noticed a little difference on your site loading faster though, so kudos!!

It's a IE6 problem. The user having problem just need to use FireFox and it can fix the problem or maybe IE7.
And the cause is : Google warning ...
